Twin Towers Go Global is pleased to announce that Twin Towers Alliance co-founders Margaret Donovan and Richard Hughes are confirmed to serve as jury members for our ongoing open call, a competition where people imagine the Twin Towers rebuilt around the world.
Richard Hughes was born in Philadelphia and, upon moving to New York City after college, spent numerous evenings sneaking up to an unoccupied floor to admire the view. The Twin Towers, for him, became synonymous with the magic, strength, and potential of the city. Margaret Donovan was raised in a small town sandwiched between the country’s original twin towers of Lexington and Concord, and moved to New York in time to watch the Twin Towers’ construction lights rise in the southern sky. For both, these powerful encounters with the Towers fueled their tireless grassroots work, first as co-founders of Rebuild-The-Towers.org in 2005, and then Twin Towers Alliance in 2006. The Twin Towers Alliance is a non-profit organization with a dual mission: to promote the return of the Twin Towers to America’s Skyline and to advance the practice of muscular citizenship.
