Twin Towers Go Global Montevideo

The Twin Towers Montevideo will be constructed in the center of the historic Plaza Independencia, and will stand in honor of the city’s history of multiculturalism and diversity. It will house numerous European embassies, in recognition of the European immigrants to the city in the early 20th century. The Towers will feature a new theater designed by Philippe Starck, who also contributed to the 1998 remodeling of the nearby Solis Theater, a beloved historical landmark. The Twin Towers will not replace the WTC Montevideo, but rather will expand upon its mission as a catalyst for Uruguayan art, culture, cuisine, and business, as well as a locus for international interests to thrive.
